Odell Brewing Sloan’s Lake Brewhouse & Pizzeria

After a rather intense bike ride along Denver’s Cherry Creek Bike Trail with Wheels Fun Rentals, Rosemary and I were more than ready for a reprise from the heat. Because – 100 degrees at 5,280 elevation hits different. When Gene recommended Odell Brewing at Sloan’s Lake as one of his top places for beer in Denver, I took that to heart.

Arriving, I was very impressed. The vibe was lovely.

Immediately, I dove into Rosemary’s order of SPINACH ARTICHOKE DIP (House made garlic spinach and artichoke dip. Served with Raquelitas tortilla chips.)

Walking up the bar, my eyes glanced over the selection before me.

Intent on sampling a nimble array of taste selections from the brewery, I ordered a nice tasting board:

•  Odell Brewing Peach Stand Rambler  (Blonde ale – Brewed with Palisade peaches from Palisade, Colorado).
• Odell Brewing Shadow Bender Dark Lager (Dark lager – Crisp, dark, and roasty)
• Odell Brewing Time Flow West Coast Pilsner (West Coast Pilsner – Light and crisp with just enough hops)
• Odell Brewing Goin’ Back Belgian Pale (Pale Ale – Silky, juicy and approachable)
• Odell Brewing Summer Sauce WC IPA (West Coast IPA – An ode to Chinook hops. Bold, fruity, and piney.)

To share with Rosemary, I ordered the CHICKEN WINGS (Buffalo style –  with house made ranch and blue cheese). I also order the lunch special –  BUILD YOUR OWN PIZZA (Truffle Oil and Fennel Sausage).

The crust was a bit thin for my personal taste. But, I overall enjoyed the pizza and the combo.

It was a solid vibe.

Truly, Odell Brewing at Sloan’s Lake was the perfect spot to rest and recover from a lovely multi mile ride with Rosemary along the Cherry Creek and Platte River bike trails.
