It had been far too long since I’d last caught up with Leanne over breakfast—something we used to do more regularly but had somehow let slip through the cracks of our busy schedules. After a quick exchange of messages and a glance at our calendars, Leanne suggested we meet at Little Ground Cafe in Glendale, a spot she’d recently discovered and thought I’d enjoy.
I found a parking spot a little way down the street, which turned out to be perfect. The short walk gave me a chance to take in the quiet charm of the neighborhood.

Its cozy ordering area was simple but stylish. I ordered a Small drip coffee alongside a Braised Pulled Pork Breakfast Burrito (black bean & corn pico, Mexican rice, bacon, cheddar, potatoes and eggs).
But as satisfying as the food was, the real joy was reconnecting with Leanne on the patio.
We picked up right where we left off, effortlessly diving into conversation. Between bites of the burrito and sips of coffee, life just felt – right.
