There are some moments in this industry that remind you exactly why you chose it. Real estate can be demanding, unpredictable, and at times overwhelming — but then a day comes along that makes all of it worth it. Any time I get to sit down with my broker, Kay, to listen, learn, and walk away with a compensation check in hand, I’m reminded just how fortunate I am. Those days feel less like business and more like a gift.
For this particular meetup, I chose Lemon Poppy Kitchen. It turned out to be the perfect setting. Parking was a breeze, as there is a dedicated parking lot.

Sitting outside, we were both happy to see each other and absolutely loved the vibe of the space.
Starting, I ordered a Chai Latte (with a shot of espresso). It was the perfect cup to wrap both hands around while Kay and I dug into my business plan. Good conversation always flows better with a great drink in hand, and this one delivered.

For brunch, we both split the Flapjacks & Fried Chicken (3 cornmeal flapjacks, crispy fried chicken, maple syrup).

I loved the distinct taste of the cornmeal flapjacks. Both that and the expertly seasoned and fried chicken truly hit the spot.
But beyond the food and the beautiful morning, what I walked away feeling most was gratitude. I love being a part of a brokerage (TradeMark Real Estate, Inc in Pasadena) that values me and that I can trust. Having a broker like Kay, someone I can text, call, or simply sit across from over a plate of flapjacks and fried chicken, is the kind of support that makes building a business feel less daunting and a lot more exciting. That kind of relationship really is the juicy cherry on top.
