After witnessing the beautiful elopement of two dear friends, it was time to celebrate properly. From the steps of the historic Santa Barbara Courthouse, we strolled through the charming downtown streets to Jane restaurant, where the reception was being held. The walk itself felt festive, almost like a little parade of joy, as we carried the excitement of the ceremony with us.

Once inside, the restaurant’s warm, inviting atmosphere set the tone perfectly for the evening. Seated with a glass of wine in hand, I browsed the pre-fixe menu, eager to see what was in store.

For my starter, I ordered the Coconut Shrimp & Curry Sauce (Watercress & Honey-Lime Vinaigrette).
The shrimp was golden and crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the sauce added just the right touch of richness balanced by the freshness of the greens. Every bite was flavorful without being heavy – a wonderful beginning to the meal.
The main course, Rack of Lamb Chops (Dried Tomatoes, Spinach and Demi Glace), arrived beautifully plated with vegetables and potatoes as additional sides.
The lamb was tender and juicy, cooked perfectly. Plus, with just a sprinkle of salt it was a solid dish. Each element complemented the other, and together they created a rich, satisfying entrée. Especially, the potatoes.
For dessert, I chose the Lemon Meringue (Pots of Cream, Raspberry Sauce), served in a small pot with a silky cream base and a drizzle of vibrant raspberry sauce.
Light yet indulgent, it was simply good. It was the right pairing to contrast with the chocolate wedding cake.
From start to finish, the evening at Jane’s was everything I could hope for in a wedding reception dinner: delicious food, attentive service, and a lively atmosphere that made it easy to relax, laugh, and toast to love. It was the perfect way to honor such a joyous occasion and left me with not only a satisfied appetite but also a heart full of memories.
