Sitting in Jane restaurant on York Blvd in Highland Park gives comfort vibes as you enjoy high quality cozy food from an eclectic menu
When picking a place to meet Carla for lunch, I knew I wanted to pick a unique place that she wouldn’t naturally pick on her own. In a bought of creative inspiration, I remembered the first time in 2021 that I visited Jane, also known as Jane on York, in Highland Park. After looking at the menu, Carla whole heartily looked forward to our lunch. I was delighted.
Jane is located in a beautiful converted Craftsman on York Blvd. Looking at how the building was in 2015 to how it is now is a testimony in investing into the community. There is nothing like snuggling into a framed window, looking out onto York Blvd and eating a delicious meal.
I ordered the PASTRAMI SANDWICH (hot pastrami, grilled cabbage, swiss cheese, mustard on ciabatta bread with a housemade spicy pickle spear) with FRIES.
It was absolutely delicious. But now, I rarely make mistakes in ordering delicious items off of well cultivated menus.
As the conversation with Carla flowed, I felt the power of knowing and remembering how beautiful life is. Being alive is a miracle. A brilliantly, beautiful, miracle. There is so much to be thankful for. Having Carla in my life – as a friend, real estate mentor and respected matriarch – has been profound.
There is no better way to learn and expand your perspective as a human being than sharing food and conversation with someone.
