When my partner and I first visited Seattle, I immediately noticed the plethora of biscuit based eateries. The last time we were in the area, we ate at Honest Biscuits. So, when I found out about Biscuit & Bean opening in Silverlake in the Los Angeles area, I was intrigued. Would it hold the same magic as in the Pacific Northwest? On a cozy summer morning, we set off to find out.

We arrived to an easy to park in parking lot and generous inside seating. Browsing the menu, I loved how to the point it was. I ordered the FRESH SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE and CAPPUCCINO (with Mexican Chocolate Sauce), as I love double fisting breakfast drinks.

For breakfast itself, I ordered BISCUITS AND GRAVY (Buttermilk Biscuit with House-made pork sausage gravy), with an order of a HASH BROWN.

Overall, as I’m a huge biscuits and gravy fan, the sauce was delicious. I would have added a bit more salt and pepper to it. But, overall it was thick and full of flavor. The hash brown was light and filling and reminded me of a McDonald’s hash brown.

My partner loved his cheddar green onion biscuit and egg combo. I loved tasting a bit of the SCHREINER’S BACON. It was thick, cooked perfectly and full of flavor.

Overall, the menu at Biscuit & Bean is very to the point. If you like biscuits and you like coffee, this is the place for you. If you don’t and are looking for another breakfast option with more on the menu to choose from, then there are alternatives that are within walking distance. But overall, we both really enjoyed our time at Biscuit & Bean and know we’ll be returning.
