More Than Waffles

More Than Waffles is an extremely popular breakfast spot in Tarzana, offering – yes – more than waffles on the menu.

In looking for a local spot that offered solid gluten free options, Kimi picked More Than Waffles. Now, the thing about More Than Waffles is that it gets PACKED on the weekends. In this case, I was appreciative that Kimi arrived a bit before our meeting time, to put our names on the well stacked list. But, our wait was still estimated to be over an hour.

After a browse around Micheal’s to kill time, we returned at our appointed time check our list status. I was annoyed when we were told “just a few more minutes”. That turned into a total wait time of just about an hour and 10 minutes.

So, just be mindful that the wait is absolutely atrocious on the weekends, have something planned to do and you’ll be decent. Now, with that said, once we were seated inside the country kitchen designed interior, we had time to review the menu.

I wanting something simple, ordered the LEMON WAFFLE (lemon cream with whipped cream) with a CAPPUCCINO (hazelnut).

When our breakfast items arrived, the three of us were each delighted with what we ordered. My lemon waffle, piled high with lemon curd and whipped cream was delicious.

Also, I truly appreciated that when my first cappuccino was a bit too sweet for me paired with sweet lemon curd topping, they remade it immediately. And the second round of my cappuccino was perfect.

Overall, breakfast at More than Waffles is great – once you’re seated. Just know that when you arrive on the weekend, you need to be prepared to wait.
