Checking into Limelight Denver, I noticed Ajax Downtown, the hotel’s adjacent restaurant. I knew that with my paid rate, I received a certain amount toward food and beverage. So, I made a mental note to fit in a visit during my stay.

The Bar
Arriving back at Limelight Denver from my Level 2 Full Day Snowboarding Class at Copper Mountain, I was ready for two things: a light snack and a cocktail.

The JUMBO SHRIMP COCKTAIL (house cocktail sauce, Lemon) was plump and delicious.

My BEAST OF BOURBON (milam & greene provisions, dry-aged beef fat, maple syrup, walnut bitters, oak smoke) was the right way to transition from a day on the Copper Mountain to night in Denver.

Breakfast in the dining room
The next morning, I walked in to Ajax Downtown for breakfast and to wait for my pain relief pills to kick in. Even after using the Theragun the night before – apparently, I’d strained a butt muscle while snowboarding. But, nothing that time, pain pills and food couldn’t help.

Immediately, COFFEE was on my mind.

Along with my cup of morning sunrise, I enjoyed a plate of the DUCK HASH (confit duck leg, Calabrian chile, arugula, crispy potato, chimichurri, duck egg). I substituted the duck egg for avocado.

With the HOMESICK REMEDY (titos, crema alpina pistacchio, licor 43, meletti chocolate, coconut) to round out my meal, breakfast at Ajax Downtown was just as lovely as my stay at Limelight Denver.
