Snoqualmie Falls

Snoqualmie Falls is a dramatic 268-foot waterfall near Seattle known for its powerful cascade, scenic viewpoints, and easy-access observation areas overlooking the Snoqualmie River

Waking up in my hotel room after a few days exploring Seattle, Washington, I stretched, glanced at the clock, and slowly realized that I had a bit more time than I’d expected before my flight back to Los Angeles. It was early enough that there was no rush to be anywhere just yet. As I began repacking my travel backpack,  my mind wandered to what else I might do with the hours before my flight. I didn’t want to simply sit around the airport waiting for my departure time to arrive.

And then, all at once, it hit me. I wanted to travel to Snoqualmie Falls.

The drive from the SeaTac area was wonderfully beautiful. The highway wound through stretches of forest and the landscape of the Pacific Northwest made everything feel fresh and alive. Before long, I’d arrived, paid my parking fee in the Snoqualmie Falls parking lot, and made my way along the path toward the viewing platforms.

The view was absolutely outstanding. The falls thundered down nearly 270 feet, sending up a fine mist that caught the morning sunlight and shimmered in the air. The sound was powerful yet soothing.

For me, being in nature in the Pacific Northwest does something deeply to my spirit.

Truly, my visit to Snoqualmie Falls was the perfect choice. It was the ideal way to spend a spare morning before heading back to the airport for a relaxing stretch of downtime at the American Express Centurion Lounge at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, where I could unwind and reflect on a trip well spent.
