Now, I’ve been to a few Great White locations in Los Angeles (Great White - Melrose, Great White - Venice Beach, Great White - Larchmont). But, when it was time to meet with Janisse a quick search alerted me that Great White had opened a brand new location in the San Fernando Valley - right in Studio City.
As this was convenient for both of us, I made a reservation for a table for two.

The one thing that one needs to know about parking on Ventura Place is that street parking could be absolutely trash. I found easy street parking. On the other hand, Janisse had to drive around a bit to find parking. But, after a bit of a delay, we found ourselves together at our table.

Browsing the menu, I ordered the TANGERINE MARGARITA (Ilegal joven mezcal, citrus, tajin) – served straight up.

Right now, I’m in a mood for cocktails in coupes or martini glasses – rather than giant ice cubes. This drink was at once tart and citrusy. I was glad that I followed our servers advice and picked the drink that he said was one of his favorites.
First to come out was the CEVICHE (hamachi, avocado, cucumber, red onion, cilantro, chives, tajin, house taro chips). This was so good that Janisse and I both verbally remarked as such.

The DIAVOLA (salami picante, local honey, mozzarella, smoked chili oil) pizza was absolutely on point. We could both taste the quality of ingredients with every bite.

During the pizza course, I sipped on the VESPER (gin, lillet, orange bitters).

There is something perfect about sipping a cocktail while eating pizza and celebrating a friend’s success. In this case, we talked about Janisse’s upcoming artist residency in New York. Which I am incredibly excited for her to experience.
Overall, my dinner at Great White – Studio City was a rather nice experience with the Great White brand. Unlike with my last visit to the Melrose location in West Hollywood, I look forward to going back.
