It’s open knowledge in Healdsburg and Sonoma Valley that yes – go to Korbel California Champagne Cellars to taste some nice sparkling wines. But then – everyone assured me – make sure you get a sandwich at Korbel Delicatessen & Market.
So, as I enjoyed my sips of sparkling wine on the patio, I placed my Toast order for the Legacy Sandwich (grilled beef tri-tip, chimichurri, caramelized onions, crumbled gorgonzola, served warm).
This was so good. I ate half of it on the way to Fort Ross Vineyard and half the meandering drive back down to San Francisco.
