Workshop Kitchen & Bar in Palm Springs was a fantastic stop for dinner within a contemporary designed space

Nestled in the heart of Palm Springs, Workshop Kitchen + Bar is not just a restaurant but a captivating journey through time and taste. Housed within the walls of a historic 1920s movie theater, this culinary gem pays homage to the city’s golden age while embracing a modern dining aesthetic.

In 2012, Chef Michael Beckman breathed new life into this iconic venue, transforming it into Workshop Kitchen + Bar. With a passion for locally sourced ingredients and a commitment to sustainable practices, Chef Beckman crafted a menu that celebrates the bounty of the Coachella Valley. Each dish is a masterpiece of flavor, artfully combining seasonal produce, artisanal meats, and inventive techniques.

The ANCIENT MARINER (El Dorado 12 year + smith and cross rums, grapefruit, allspice dram, mint) and the HEMINGWAY ESPECIAL (white rum, lime – grapefruit juices, maraschino liqueur) throughout the night were pitch perfect cocktails.

SAUSAGE PIZZA started the evening off perfectly.

Next up, were the DUCK FAT FRITES (Green peppercorn aioli) and the STEAK AU POIVRE (7 oz snake river farms flat iron, grilled over wood, market vegetables)

To finish the evening, we split the LEMON MERINGUE.

As you dine at Workshop Kitchen + Bar, you’re not just savoring exquisite cuisine—you’re experiencing a culinary narrative that reflects Palm Springs’ evolution from a glamorous retreat to a thriving epicenter of food and culture.
