After a long journey from Los Angeles to Tahiti, Sefora and I were more than ready for a proper meal. We made our way from our Airbnb to the Boutique Hotel Kon Tiki Tahiti and to the 6th floor, eager to enjoy a relaxing and filling dinner.
As the doors opened to The Surf House Tahiti, I truly felt centered in the moment of being in Tahiti.

Even though it was already evening, the setting was beautiful. The night view from the windows hinted at the incredible view we would have seen earlier in the day.
We were warmly greeted by the host and led to two beautifully carved Polynesian chairs that immediately set the tone. At last, it truly felt like we had arrived in Tahiti.

I ordered an OCEAN BLUE COCKTAIL (Rhum, Curacao Bleu, Liqueur de Melon, Crème de Coco, Jus d’Ananas).

Our amuse bouche, a CARROT VELOUTÉ, was unexpectedly rich and flavorful, a start to dinner.
For the main course, I chose the CRISPY PARROTFISH (fresh vegetables, raïta sauce), which was exactly what I had hoped for in an introduction to Polynesian cuisine: light, delicately prepared, and subtly enhanced with fruit-based accents.
Dining at The Surf House in Tahiti was a beautiful close to our first night in French Polynesia.
