After a rewarding early afternoon at the Sand Canyon Country Club driving range, Terrin and I were more than ready for some delicious food for lunch.

As we’d loved our time at Sidecar Market, we decided to try the spot next door, The Old Town Junction.
Setting down at the bar, I immediately inquired about the EMPRESS ISLAND (Empress Indigo Gin, cream of coconut, lychee, fresh lemon, toasted coconut). As I’d wanted it served up, without ice, he immediately obliged and even remarked that it looked better that way.

To me, it tasted delicious. I tend to aim on the side of less is more with iced drinks. It all depends on the type of ice design. But, the majority of drinks only need a single large ice cube or to be served up, without. Personal preference, but it makes a difference.
Browsing the menu, there was one item I simply had to order: the LOBSTER ROLL ( buttered lobster claw, tarragon aioli, celery leaf, on a brioche roll with seasoned fries).
It was love at first bite.
Every time I visit Newhall, I’m shocked and impressed by how Terrin and I can find pockets of exceptional quality in a town that I would have formerly thought “wait what? This is in Newhall? In Santa Clarita?”
It was also a delight to introduce two other fellow patrons to my blog. They were moving to Switzerland within a few weeks. So, I was able to show them my reviews and experiences in the area.

Honestly, that’s the beauty of writing a resource like this. Yes, I love having conversations with people about travel. But really, it’s to be of service when you least expect it.
And that’s the beauty of human connection.
