Harriet’s Rooftop

Harriet's Rooftop in Toronto provides an upscale, open-air dining experience atop 1 Hotel Toronto, boasting panoramic views of the city skyline

There are certain times when the stars align and you’re in the right place at the right time for fire AF discounts. For me, my stay at 1 Hotel Toronto corresponded with a special at Harriet’s Rooftop, where all rolls and sushi were half off for Wasabi Wednesday.

When the doors opened onto the rooftop, I was hit in the face with one of the most beautiful sunsets I could have dreamed of witnessing.

As I greeted the host and was led to seat with an incredible view of the sunset, I simply felt so thankful that I’d decide to have my last dinner in Toronto at 1 Hotel Toronto’s rooftop.

First up was the SPOOKY MARTINI (Patron Reposado. Coffee Liqueur, Espresso. Pumpkin Spice Syrup). I absolutely loved that it was served with the cutest little pumpkin on the side. It was the best seasonal espresso martini.

Then, I delighted in the TUNA and HAMACHI NIGRI. The tuna, with its rich, buttery texture, melted in my mouth, while the hamachi offered a slightly firmer yet equally tender bite, with a subtle sweetness that complemented the rice.

I decided to take a moment to pause, walk outside and fully appreciate the breathtaking sunset unfolding before me. As the sun slowly dipped lower, the colors deepened and shifted, creating a mesmerizing display of nature’s beauty. I stood there for a while, lost in the moment, savoring the tranquil atmosphere and the peacefulness that settled over everything.

I returned to the table, excited for what was to come.

Next up were orders of the H-ROLL (Spicy Tuna, Avocado, Cucumber, Seared Salmon, Ginger Aioli, Spicy Aioli, Unagi Sauce, Crispy Shallots) and CHILI CRAB ROLL (Snow Crab, Cucumber, Avocado, Chili Aioli, Scallion, Chive Oil). These were absolutely delicious. After having such a red meat heavy trip (including the absolutely delicious steak at Jules’ Bistro the night before), it was great to have something so light, refreshing and fresh.

After going back and forth with myself (after all, 50% off is 50% off), I ended with the TRUFFLE SCALLOP (Hokkaido Scallop, Avocado, Asparagus, Truffle Paste, Chili Aioli). This was so delicious and so much that I knew I wasn’t going to finish it in one sitting. Instead, I ate a few bites and opted to save the rest as a late night snack.

My dinner during sunset at Harriet’s Rooftop was the perfect way to cap off two weeks of exploring the beautiful landscape and backroads of the Northeast.
