A evening snowshoeing experience with a Naturalist from Walking Mountains was an incredible exploration of the winter wonderland of Vail, Colorado
Settling in to the Highline Vail – a DoubleTree by Hilton, I wanted to see if there was an activity that we could do together before dinner.
Literally, out of the blue, I stumbled upon a FREE evening snowshoe activity, on Vail Mountain.
Shocked, I quickly booked a reservation on the website. After a quick change into snow gear, we were on our way.
The very cool thing about the evening snowshoeing tour with the Walking Mountains Nature Discovery Center is that getting to the center at 5:30pm meant that the Eagle Bahn Gondola ride was free.
I was so excited!
The lights of Vail looked incredible as we ascended the mountain.
On top of Vail Mountain, it felt that we were in another world. It was serene.
Quickly, we got our snowshoes from the Discovery Center and followed the group for the tour.
The talk with the naturalist was really lovely. It was really powerful to think of the human impact in migration and survival of the local animals.
Overall, the evening snowshoeing tour was an absolutely lovely evening experience and introduction to the natural side of Vail, Colorado.
