Breakfast at Balcão do Marquês was a lovely way to enjoy a classic Southern European breakfast - including prosciutto and cheeses - in Lisbon, Portugal
While staying at the H10 Palazzo Canova while in Venice, Italy, I truly appreciated the care and detail that H10 properties put into their breakfasts. However, due to this particular stay in Lisbon, I wanted to focus on trying a breakfast spot outside of the hotel, to feel the energy of the city.
I asked the front desk where they would recommend, that was close to the hotel. The agent enthusiastically recommended Balcão do Marquês, down the street.

After a short walk, we were sat outside on the patio, ready to bask in the Lisbon morning and dine on local fare.
I appreciated our server pointing out the English Breakfast to me. But, I knew that I wanted something else. So, I used Google Translate to translate the other breakfast items. After a short search, I found the TÁBUA DE CARNES FRIAS (Meat and Cheese Breakfast with Presunto, chouriço, chourição, bacon, queijo da Serra, azeitonas, azeite confitado e cesto de pão). This had exactly what I wanted.

Along with my usual morning CAPPUCCINO with a glass of MANGO JUICE and I was extremely satisfied and ready to take on the day with a visit to Sintra.
