After a brief stop in Portland weeks earlier, one craving lingered: Pacific Northwest–style biscuits and gravy. Saying I thought about it often would be an understatement.
With time to spare before returning my rental car and heading to the airport, I searched for breakfast in Reno. Instead of repeating breakfast at Trailhead Social at Martis Valley Lodge, I decided to branch out - and that led me to Pine State Biscuits.

Pulling up to Pine State Biscuits was like a sense of cozy comfort that I didn’t know I was looking for. I immediately zero’d in toward what I wanted.
THE REGGIE (Fried chicken, bacon, and Tillamook cheddar topped with choice of gravy) fulfilled all of my breakfast desires.

Later, eating that biscuit sandwich at Reno Airport’s Escape Lounge alongside a Bloody Mary and coffee, I couldn’t help but smile.

It was a deeply satisfying, perfectly timed breakfast of champions before my flight back to Los Angeles.
