AutoCamp Sonoma

AutoCamp Sonoma combines modern luxury and outdoor charm, offering upscale Airstreams and tents near Sonoma’s top wineries

After spending a night at Under Canvas – Glacier in Montana during a trip to Glacier National Park, I knew that I wanted to experience glamping again. So, when planning a trip to the Healdsburg area to relax among the changing leaves of Northern California, I booked a stay at AutoCamp Somona. I waking up surrounded by redwoods would be a desire come true.

Check In

Check in was extremely easy. I’d received a text message that my Airstream was ready while I was enjoying my tasting at Moshin Winery. While I was driving to Guerneville, I felt peace as I drove backroads through the trees.

When I arrived at AutoCamp Sonoma, I loved that it felt like its own world – surrounded by houses and life.

Entering, I was immediately welcomed by the front desk. As my Airstream was access by a passcode, all I needed was a map to familiarize myself with the layout of the space.

Room + Stay

When I walked up to Airstream 10, the first thing I thought was “cute”!

I had my own campfire area, with chairs around a fire pit and a picnic table. Entering the Airstream, I felt that I could check the experience off on my list of travel to dos. It was to the point.

Granted, I’d spend summers growing up with my family in a vacation trailer. So, the concept wasn’t lost on me. But, I wanted to understand the cult like standom that followed Airstreams.

Truly, it was fine for a one night stay. I didn’t feel cramped. I just felt that I was staying in a trendy tube.

As for what AutoCamp Sonoma offered, I truly enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting by Croix wines, the hot chocolate bar and the comfort of sitting at my campfire with my Kindle, as a family of raccoons emerged from the trees – locked eyes with me – and then disappeared back into the trees.

Overall

Overall, I greatly enjoyed my stay at AutoCamp Sonoma. Plus, the front desk host gave me a great recommendation for the next time I drive north and end up in Philo: Gowan’s Oak Tree for cider. Plus, it was within short driving distance to Korbel California Champagne Cellars, which I visited for a tasting after check out.
