On our walk from breakfast at Urban Café to catch the ferry to Moorea, Sefora and I passed through the lively Papeete Market.
Wandering through both the outdoor stalls and indoor sections, I was struck by the energy and color that filled the space. The market buzzed with local vendors selling fresh produce, handcrafted goods, and vibrant textiles.

I took a few photos, trying to capture the spirit of the place. But it was the atmosphere that felt so full of life and warmth – that couldn’t be captured behind my lens. It was a vibe that felt so rooted in the spirit of Tahiti.
This was Tahiti. Friendly faces, beautiful craftsmanship, and a deep sense of place that made it all feel real.

The vendors Sefora and I inquired were cash only. Since my usual currency exchange in L.A. didn’t have French Polynesian francs in stock before I left, I wasn’t able to make any purchases at the market. I don’t particularly trust foreign ATMs.
Still, simply walking through and taking it all in was a memorable part of the morning.
