As Rosemary and I planned our Colorado adventure week, one experience topped my must-do list: white-water rafting. My previous river adventures had taken me down the Merced through Yosemite and the Arkansas near Cañon City years earlier, but the thrill never left me.
The morning began with comprehensive safety briefings before we suited up in wetsuits, life jackets, and protective helmets. I opted for rental booties to ensure solid footing on the rocky riverbed.
Soon enough, we climbed aboard the shuttle bus bound for our launch point on Clear Creek.
What followed exceeded every expectation.
It was fun.
Our river guide demonstrated exceptional skill and knowledge. Plus, we were paired with three fantastic people from Minnesota, who we engaged with fantastic conversation with as we paddled. It was the perfect group dynamic.
The entire experience proved both exhilarating and deeply satisfying. a day I’ll treasure long after reviewing the photos we captured along the way.
