Sometimes, it’s incredibly amusing how I get nudges of information. I first heard about the Limelight Hotel brand while in conversation at the bar at the Moxy Boulder hotel.
Ryan, the then head bartender, was leaving the Moxy to start the cocktail program at the soon to open Limelight Boulder. As we discussed Limelight’s new Mammoth Lakes property, I hoped the location would be open in time for me to use my IKON pass for snowboarding.
Luckily, it was. But, as I booked my trip to Mammoth Lakes to visit Deja and snowboard once more (Snowboarding Mammoth Mountain: Eagle Lodge - Part Deux 😂) I also needed a place to stay for my trip to Denver to visit college friends and snowboard in the Rocky Mountains.
A quick search assured me that there was a Limelight Hotel in Denver. And – most importantly – with a great discount for IKON Passholder holders via the Passholder Package.
Within a few clicks, I was set and ready for my first introduction to the Limelight by Aspen One’s offerings.
Check In
After a rather early morning at LAX and enduring a flight delay due to Denver’s high winter winds, I looked forward to relaxing. Luckily, after a fantastic visit to REI’s downtown Denver location to exchange my REI snow bib for a Burton snow bib, I arrived at Limelight Denver.

Check in was a great experience. The front desk was extremely friendly, pointing out everything I needed to know to have a great stay. I especially enjoyed the welcome drink of The Obc Project’s Rose Blood Orange Italian Spritz.
Room and Stay
With my snowboard page and suitcase, I made my way to my room.

Once I opened it up, I was exceptionally pleased - it was absolutely lovely. Immediately, it made me think of the flow of 1 Hotels (1 Hotel Nashville, especially). It felt like the room - and the very design of the hotel itself - represented Denver in the best way.

The wood touches, the separate water closet from the shower. The design and flow of the room itself. Everything came together to make more feel that I was saying in my own personal – bedroom.

Almost immediately, I pulled down the provided humidifier, filled it with water and started it.
Truly, it’s the details that enrich a stay.
Dining
Cocktails and later breakfast at Ajax Downtown was great.
Benefits
Now, the key to working the benefits to a stay at Limelight Denver is understanding the perks. And the perks are outstanding.
First, up: the welcome drink – which during my stay was a choice between two beers.

I also loved the coffee maker – complete with various syrups and coffee styles, for my pleasure.

Next, the Therabody selection. After a rather full day of getting into the snow of things in the Rocky Mountains (Level 2 Full Day Snowboarding Class at Copper Mountain), I waddled into Limelight in such a state that one of the friendly front desk agents immediately asked if I wanted to take a look at the Therabody selection.

I first tried to use the Therabody JetBoots compression boots. However, because of my thicker than average thighs, I couldn’t zip the medium nor the large up the length of my legs. So, I settled on the TheraFace Mask and Theragun.

Parking
Parking is $65. But, unlike my last experience at Thompson Denver - I didn’t get irrationally angry at this fact. On the other hand, similar to the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver, there is a closer self parking option available. But, unlike valet, there isn’t an in-n-out privilege option. I would have wished that there was more street parking - like at Kimpton Claret. But, also - the hotel is downtown next to the train station. So, it’s a give and take.

Overall
Overall, I absolutely loved my stay at Limelight Denver. The hotel felt fresh with clean vibes and beautiful guest spaces. I absolutely loved being able to get custom coffee combinations at the bespoke coffee machine. I loved being able to write and relax in front of the fireplace. Every area of the lobby felt that it was designed with intention.

And best of all? It made me excited for my stay at Limelight Mammoth the following week.
