German cuisine at Himmel Haus gave me a delicious sausage and beer filled dinner in Lake Tahoe, California.
I first visited Himmel Haus back in 2018, and instantly fell in love with the hearty selection of sausages and the incredible beer. The snow falling outside added the perfect touch of coziness to the whole experience.
After a full day of exploring the area, we settled into our table and kicked things off with the BAVARIAN PRETZEL (pretzel, served with Haus made three cheese mustard fondue and bacon-onion jam Mini Pretzel).
We followed that with the BELGIAN FRITES (Fresh cut, twice fried potatoes. Served with our Haus made curry ketchup and roasted garlic aioli). Both made in-house, of course.
For the main course, we shared the SAUSAGE PLATTER (A Selection of 4 sausages (Bratwurst – seasoned pork, Bockwurst – veal & garlic, Kielbasa – spiced beef and pork, Chicken Apple, served with mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, rotkohl, and Haus made pickles).
Every bite packed with flavor.
Returning to Himmel Haus in 2021 felt like a nostalgic treat. Dining here not only brought back great memories, but it also gave me a real taste of what to expect when I eventually made my way to Germany.
