I arrived at Copper Mountain earlier than expected after my drive from Limelight Denver, and immediately realized I needed something to eat. My single cup of chai-flavored cappuccino I’d grabbed from Limelight Denver on my way out simply wasn’t going to provide the sustained energy I’d need for my Level 2 Full Day Snowboarding Class at Copper Mountain.

After putting my items in my locker, I scanned around for a protein bar or something that I could grab and go in the rental / gear store. Not finding anything, I walked up to Camp Hale Coffee and asked if there was a quick to go convenience store around that I could get a protein bar from. Unfortunately, there was not. So, in an instant, I decided to get an Almond Croissant.

As I waited for the unpredictably timed shuttle that would take me from Center Village to West Village, I savored the warmed croissant.

Simple, warm, and comforting, it was a small but welcome pleasure before a long day on the mountain.
