Babe's Tea Room in Denver, Colorado, offers a charming and upscale experience reminiscent of a classic British tea house, complete with elegant décor and a variety of fine teas.
When making plans to visit Angie while in Denver, I was open and curious as to what she would pick. When she suggested afternoon tea at Babe’s Tea Room, in Downtown Denver, I was delighted. It looked colorful, creative and above all – simply fun.
Arriving on a sunny day, I was happy that she picked a spot outside on the extended patio out front. Once hugs and hellos were exchanged, we were set for tea time.

Our friendly waitress guided us through teas and selections. We both selected:
Afternoon Tea
A prix fixe menu including an assortment of savory tea sandwiches, miniature scones served with jam, homemade lemon curd and Devonshire Cream, Scottish shortbread, homemade petit fours, and a French macaron.
Includes unlimited tea tasting. One pot of tea suggested per every 2-3 guests. Which can be rotated frequently.
The one thing I requested were eggless sandwiches. I don’t like pieces of egg in my sandwiches. I can’t explain it beyond an extremely strong personal preference. Babe’s Tea Room acknowledged my request and provide a lovely selection of modified sandwich bites for our shared liking.
Needless to say – I had the pleasure of enjoying quite a lot of teas – ranging from vanilla and woodsy to deliciously tropical and fruity.

What I enjoyed the most was conversing with Angie about her daughter, Marie, and her work with children’s diabetes. Recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, it’s been incredible to watch Marie work with Children’s Diabetes Foundation and BreakthroughT1D to promote knowledge and understanding of the diagnosis and life long management of diabetes.
Truly, it was a lovely time to enjoy friendship, a heavy rotation of teas and the pleasures of being outside in the summer air.
