Bernie and the Boys Bistro in Drumheller, Alberta, is a retro diner known for its giant Mammoth Burger, 75+ milkshake flavors and hearty comfort food
After an unforgettable and humbling morning wandering through the fascinating fossil halls of the Royal Tyrrell Museum with Amanda, our next stop was lunch. After all, we needed fuel for the next adventure awaiting us among the surreal landscapes of Willow Creek Hoodoos. A quick search pointed us to a local favorite that had amassed an impressive number of rave reviews: Bernie and the Boys Bistro.

This unassuming eatery had us curious. The menu offered a mix of classic burgers with a twist. I couldn’t resist the HAWAIIAN BURGER (ham, pineapple, pizza sauce, and mozzarella cheese). Amanda and I opted to share an order of FRIES, just enough to keep things indulgent.

When the burger arrived, I’ll admit – visually, it didn’t scream “OMG YES!”
But one bite in, and any doubt disappeared. It was unexpectedly delicious.

This was the kind of Alberta beer that sneaks up on you and demands your full attention. There were no leftovers and we both were left satisfied and ready to explore the World’s Largest Dinosaur in Drumheller.
