Tropics Ale House – Waikōloa

Tropics Ale House in Waikōloa, Hawaii, serves island-inspired dishes and drinks in a relaxed setting

Arriving in Kona, I was excited for what was to come. After a quick settle into our room at Hilton Waikoloa Village, Sefora and I were ready for our late evening dining . Everyone in the group was excited and ready. We all met at the lobby of Hilton Waikoloa Village and walked the short walk over to Tropics Ale House.

When we arrived, we were looking forward to a full array of food choices. However, much to our collective disappointment, the kitchen closed at 9pm. Which made our arrival at 9:12pm a little too late. However, what we could order?

Cocktails.

And what goes better with a night in Hawaii other than a tropical drink?

Rounds of MAI TAI PASSIONS (Mahina Light Rum, Mahina Dark Rum, Don Q 151, Orange Curacao, Pineapple Juice, Lilikoi Puree & Orgeat) were ordered and conversations flowed.

It felt fantastic to say yes to life, take a last minute flight and find myself at a bar in Hawaii conversing with fellow travel enthusiasts.

Even though the kitchen was closed, we were able to secure and pass around an order of CHIPS + SALSA.

It was the absolute perfect way to savor a night filled with conversations, getting to know new friends and enjoying the moments that make up a life.

And a pro tip: Domino’s on 68-1820 Waikoloa Road will deliver to the Hilton Waikoloa Village. So, if you have a late flight in and arrive to Waikoloa Village later than expected   – either call ahead to Tropics Ale House for take out or just come for drinks.

Either way, it’s a very enjoyable vibe for a walkable night out.
