Montreal operates on its own terms – a city that is technically in Canada but feels unmistakably French in its rhythm, its food, its architecture, and asshole snobbish personality.
Beyond the food and drink, Montreal is a city of neighborhoods – the Plateau, Mile End, Old Montreal, and the Golden Square Mile each carrying their own distinct character and architectural identity.
Maybe next time, my visit to Montreal won’t be influenced by an annoying interaction at the border while driving from Vermont to Quebec, Canada. But, I was very happy to head back the next day. Personally, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary are better to me. But hey, at least I can check off visiting Montreal off my list of places.
This guide covers where to eat and where to stay in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
