Some experiences are almost impossible to capture in words, and can only be hinted at visually. Traveling by camel caravan into the Sahara (Into the Sahara: A Sunset Camel Caravan Trek over the Erg Chebbi Dunes with Takojt Camel Treks) was one of those moments, It was profoundly unforgettable.
Abdul led our camels to Tiziri Desert Camp and we arrived a little after 7 pm. In the welcome tent, we were welcomed with the traditional offering of Moroccan cookies and mint tea.

This was one of the absolute most incredible experiences I could have ever dreamed of having. I fully and completely wanted to sleep in and savor the delicious day even more.
The breakfast and dinner we enjoyed at the camp (Dinner and Breakfast at Tiziri Desert Camp) was delicious.
There was an evening music experience, which I sat for a bit and then left to do my own thing. There was one thing I’d been looking forward to the whole trip: working on my night photography skills in the Sahara. It was fascinating to capture the star filled sky, before the full moon overtook it with light.
The next day, the group decided to take the cards to ride back – after breakfast – to the main building.
Overall
I cannot stay enough powerful, incredible things about my stay at Tiziri Desert Camp.
It was everything I dreamed my night in the Sahara would be – and more.
