Thompson Washington D.C.

A stay at the Thompson hotel in Washington D.C. was a great weekend home to enjoy the cherry blossom season of the Atlantic coast

In looking for a hotel for my Washington, D.C., I prioritized benefits more than location. I knew that I wanted to stay at a Hyatt brand location, based on my Globalist status. Which, based on the feeling I wanted to feel when I walked through the doors to get to my room, only left one choice: The Thompson Washington DC in the Navy Yard area of Washington, D.C..

Location and Stay

Driving from the airport, it was easy to find the hotel and drop the car off at the valet. Check in was a breeze. After a lovely conversation with the front desk, I was upgraded to a beautiful corner suite.

The room was the epitome of the vibe I wanted while in Washington, D.C.. I wanted a relaxed and refined space that would allow me to sleep the day away at night and wake up refreshed. On point with the brand standard of Thompson, that is exactly what I received.

The bathroom products were – of course – D.S. & Durga in Bowmakers.

It was an absolute pleasure to explore and photograph the cherry blossoms, drive around Delaware and Baltimore and come back to the Thompson.

Service

I truly loved enjoying the Globalist perk of complimentary breakfast service from their offsite provider.

At some point, I had a drink at Anchovy Social. I believe I ordered the EAT, DRINK AND BE CHERRY  (Espolon Tequila, Morello Cherry Syrup, Soda, Cherrywood Smoked Sea Salt), in honor of cherry blossom season.

It was lovely to enjoy it on the rooftop.

Overall

Overall, I greatly enjoyed my time at Thompson Washington D.C.. Like with Thompson Denver, Thompson Seattle and Tommie (located in the Thompson) in Austin, I simply enjoy staying at Thompson brand hotels.
