The Grey Market

The Grey Market is a cute diner spot, serving assorted regional dishes, adjacent to the tommie Austin hotel

The Grey Market, located in the shared space with The Thompson Austin and tommie Austin, was a solid solution for my breakfast needs.

My first night at tommie Austin, I stopped by the diner and had the FRIED OYSTER SLIDERS with a local beer, before heading to Terry Black’s Barbecue.

For breakfast the next day, I ordered the HASH AND EGGS (shredded potato, chicken sausage, sunny eggs) without eggs and with added side of fruit. This was my favorite of my two breakfasts meals at The Grey Market.

For my second morning, I ordered the LOW COUNTRY BREAKFAST (two eggs any style, breakfast meat, creamy grits, biscuit, choice seasonal jam). However, this was also when I realized that I STILL do not like grits.

The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. I loved how cozy – yet distinct it felt. Plus, they had a decent amount of grab and go items for travelers looking for those items.

Overall, eating at The Grey Market offered a great spot for breakfast before heading out to explore Austin.
