Enjoying a drink at The Grant was a great way to pass time in a visually delicious locale in Glassell Park, California
After having a beer at Solarc Brewing, Rosemary and I were in need of a space to sit and enjoy time for a little over an hour, before Dunsmoor Bar opened for the evening. I scouted locations and surprisingly, found an open cocktail establishment at the end of the street.
After a friendly hello from Josh, the bartender, Rosemary and I made our way to empty seats at the bar.
Browsing the menu, I knew I just wanted one drink – and nothing like my tradition go to’s of Old Fashioned’s, Manhattan’s or the like. So, what was it to be?
After a quick back and forth with Josh, he suggested I get the off menu NAKED AND FAMOUS cocktail (mezcal, yellow Chartreuse, Aperol, and fresh lime juice).
Rosemary got a glass of wine and we split an order of the BUB AND GRANDMA’S FOCACCIA BREAD (sourdough focaccia, olive oil, corn grit).
It was so nice to relax and converse in a bar filled with visually delicious tones of blues, golds and browns. It reminded me of my time at The Bluebird Cocktail Room in Baltimore.
Overall, enjoying a cocktail at The Grant was a great way to chill and pass time in a beautiful space. And sometimes, that’s all you need.
