Brilliant. Beautiful. Brooklyn Museum.
I absolutely love the Brooklyn Museum. Yes, the Met is great. I’ve been there plenty of times. But, the Brooklyn Museum is in a class of its own regarding modern, socially relevant exhibits, curation and vibe.
I stuck to the Alboh exhibit and the 5th and 4th floors. I relished meandering around until the museum closed. Visiting the Brooklyn Museum was such a breath of fresh air. I really appreciate the resounding presence of art in my life, right now. It just feels like such an invigoration of energy – in the now.
Highlighted Exhibitions: Duke Riley Death to the Living: Long Live Trash
The Dinner Party by Judy Chicago in the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, 4th Floor
Really Free: The Radical Art of Nellie Mae Rowe
I missed getting a ticket to Thierry Mugler: Couturissime. But, I still got what I came for: the deep resonating connectedness and power to my Blackness – and really, brilliantly beautiful art.
