Dinner at State of Grace was a delicious spot for a relaxed and delicious meal, in Houston, Texas
I’ve been to Houston only a handful of times, to visit relatives. However, this trip was different. To mark it, I wanted to explore Houston on my own, through my own palette.
After a short search, I settled on State of Grace.
After browsing the menu, I ordered the oysters to start. The WHITECAP (Dennis, MA), FIVE POINTS (Cape Code Bay, MA) BEAUSOLEIL (New Brunswick, CAN) and MURDER POINT (Bayou LaBatre, AL).
For my main course, I had the CHARRED BROCCOLI (kimchi vinaigrette) along with the 8 oz BAVETTE (USDA Prime Steak Wood Roasted Over Texas Pecan & Oak).
Both were delicious. Plus, I loved my take home Snickerdoodle cookie as a parting gift.
And more importantly, dinner in Houston allowed me to reimagine visiting Texas and my relatives in a world without my mother in it anymore.
