Stardust Inn and Chalets

Stardust Inn and Chalets in Pincher Creek, Alberta offers cozy, well-equipped accommodations for exploring the surrounding mountains and natural attractions

In planning my trip to Glacier National Park, I knew that I was too close to Canada to not visit Alberta once again. Plus, I love all facets of the Rocky Mountains. So, I after a bit of light research, I decided not to rush and spend the night in Calgary. Instead, I chose Pincher Creek.

It was a light drive from Under Canvas – Glacier, along the west side of Glacier National Park, passing through the Canadian border and driving to and exploring Waterton Lakes National Park. Once I was done capturing the beauty of the area, it was time for me to make my way to Pincher Creek and check in for my night at Stardust Inn and Chalets.

Check In

Checking in was a bit – interesting. I parked and entered the lobby which also served as the lobby for the restaurant. After a bit of a wait and looking around and asking the restaurant servers if I was in the right place to check in – a bubbly and friendly server came over and checked me in.

She gave me a key and pointed over to where the chalets were. After a drive around the corner and a short search around, I found chalet #5.

Room and Stay

At first, I was a bit confused as to how to opened the door. However, after returning to the lobby to clarify, I got it right. The door opened by lifting up, not the traditional American style down.

It’s the little things.

Once that was rectified, I entered the chalet.

Immediately, I was pleased. I’d booked a one bedroom chalet, but had been given a two bedroom instead. The space was expansive. I loved the living room, the kitchen and the overall look and feel of the chalet. Plus, the expansive open windows made me feel that I could experience the expansiveness of the outside sky – from my comfortable seat at the kitchen table.

The bed was comfortable, and most importantly – the air conditioner worked.

Overall

As I drove form Stardust Inn and Chalets and stopped at the local Tim Horton’s before heading to Fernie for lunch at The Brickhouse Bar and Grill, I was pleased. My short time in Pincher Creek was comfortable and my stay was a great choice for the night.
