Jazz at Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro is - in short - a must do when visiting New Orleans, Louisiana
When a friend suggested that I go to a jazz club for the night, I was delighted to find a ticket to a performance at Snug Harbor.
Nestled in the heart of New Orleans’ iconic Faubourg Marigny neighborhood, Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro stands as a cherished institution, offering a soulful journey through the city’s rich musical heritage. Since its founding in 1983, this intimate venue has been a haven for jazz aficionados and music lovers seeking an authentic taste of the Crescent City’s vibrant music scene.
When I arrived after a short ride from the JW Marriott Hotel, I immediately felt Snug Harbor’s cozy ambiance and intimate setting. It was the perfect backdrop for an evening and unforgettable performances.
As I checked in when the doors opened for my show, I was excited for my seat. I had a clear view of the performance and felt – transcendent – in the presence of the energy.
As Delfeayo Marsalis and The Uptown Jazz Orchestra played and I sipped on my THE SNUG HARBOR (House made Yellow Fruit Punch, Light Rum, 151 Rum), I was struck with how perfect the night was.
The music and intimate vibe of Snug Harbor captured my heart.
Snug Harbor is more than just a jazz club—it’s a cultural landmark that embodies the spirit of New Orleans’ vibrant music scene.
