Sichuan Restaurant Amsterdam – Warmoesstraat

Dinner at China Sichuan Restaurant served one of my favorite experiences of Chinese cuisine - in Amsterdam, the Netherlands

After a somewhat rainy time on the canals with Lover’s Canal Cruise, I was more than ready to eat something delicious. So, I settled on a recommendation for Chinese food I’d received while dining at Noma: Sichuan Restaurant Amsterdam’s location in Warmoesstraat.

Walking around Amsterdam in the sunset was beautiful. Before long, we arrived at China Sichuan.

Now, I will admit, based on the website, I expected a COMPLETELY different interior design experience. But, after double checking the logo on the website with the logo on the menu, I was open to the experience.

The SICHUAN SPICY DUMPLINGS (Pork Fillings) was my absolute favorite dish of the evening. I loved the plump and delicious dumplings. Especially, with the Sichuan pepper.

The TSINGTAO BREWERY’S CLASSIC LAGER was perfect with the spicy food.

The SICHUAN HOTPOT BOILING PORK (pork, celery, Chinese lettuce, chili pepper, Sichuan pepper, leck) honestly was a shock. I did not expect it to be so large! But wow, it was delicious. I ordered it with a side of RICE.

The balance was the SICHUAN SWEET AND SOUR SESAME.

Overall, I think we over ordered. But, it was great to get a complete taste of the delicious menu – before they unfortunately decided to close a bit earlier than expected.

As we walked back to the Hyatt Regency Amsterdam, we noticed that another location, located near the Red Light district, was incredibly busy. So, I’m very happy we got an easy to get seat in Warmoesstraat.
