After experiencing so much of Morocco’s varied landscape during A 10 Day Moroccan Adventure with Kim Larkin Adventures, the time finally came to say goodbye to our incredible private guide, Rachid, and our ever-patient, ever-gracious driver, Kamal. It felt bittersweet - these were the two people who had shepherded us across the country, answered every question, anticipated every need, and made the journey feel seamless.
But the final chapter of our adventure was waiting: Marrakesh.
Once Kamal helped unload our bags and hand them off to the bag porters’ carts, we were off.

We followed the porters into the narrow alleyways of the medina. For the first time on the entire trip, I felt a sense of direction in a Moroccan city. I felt my confidence bubble up – that if I stepped out on my own in Marrakesh, I’d be okay. The city’s energy just made sense to me in a way that comforted me.
A few minutes later, we stopped at an unassuming doorway. Behind it was our home for the final nights of the trip: Riad Siwan Marrakesh.

Stepping through the threshold into the garden courtyard felt peaceful. The elegant design elements immediately grounded me.
Check In
Within minutes, Kim gathered us and shared our room assignments. Bags were delivered and the gentle hum of relaxation settled over the group.

Room and Stay
My room – Walāta – was exactly what my travel-weary body and mind needed. Spacious, beautifully designed, and thoughtfully appointed, it felt like a gift after so many days on the road.

I sank into one of the plush chairs, felt the cushion wrap around me, and just sat there for a moment – breathing, unwinding, letting myself be still. I got so relaxed that I could have fallen asleep.
The bed was firm and comfortable. The room felt clean, calming, and safe. It felt like my little sanctuary in Marrakesh.
If I had to give one critique: the shower never quite got as hot as I prefer. Lukewarm at best. But by that point in the journey, even that felt like a small inconvenience rather than a frustration.

Everything else made up for it.
Overall
Along with my experiences of Breakfasts and Dinners at Riad Siwan Marrakesh, Riad Siwan felt like a gentle landing at the end of a whirlwind journey.
