Porta Via Calabasas

Porta Via’s location in Calabasas is an easy on the eyes, upmarket spot for Italian fare in The Commons at Calabasas

Picking a place in Calabasas for dinner with Katharine was relatively easy. Based on our topic of conversation – Italy – I thought it would be a lovely to meet at Porta Via’s Calabasas location.

What’s amusing is that I mentally thought that I’d made a reservation via Resy. But, apparently, I imagined it. Because the only reservation I had in my account was my upcoming reservation at Hatchet Hall. Whoops! Luckily, they were able to squeeze us in.

I ordered the Rigatoni Spicy Vodka Sauce (Roasted Shallots, Tomato & Touch of Cream, Parmigiano) with added sausage. The added sausage was $6. Was it worth it? Yes. It really completed the dish. Plus, it was large enough that I had solid leftovers for later.

Again, this isn’t a niche spot like Met Him at a Bar. But, for a dependable, solidly delicious, upmarket Italian fare in Calabasas, Porta Via is it.
