It is extremely rare that when I arrive at a restaurant, I immediately face a line – even before the spot opens. Such was the case with Pizzeria Sei. I’d arrived immediately after my facial with Flowerbmbr Skincare. Stephany has raved about Pizzeria Sei, and I made it my business to finally see what she was raving about.
Arriving five minutes before opening, I was one of four other people, waiting for the clock to strike 4pm. On cue, a staff member opened the door and us – the waiting customers – filed in.

I immediately took a seat at pizza bar and looked around, taking everything in. This was an understated two table + about 7 seats at the bar + some outside tables situation.
I began with the BARBERA D’ASTI – “STRJA” MONTESTREGONE from Piemonte, Italy. This was cooled perfection. I loved sipping the dry wine while I watched the pizza oven cook the delicious pizzas that were made in front of me.

My pizza, the MALA LAMB SAUSAGE (lamb sausage, Kendall Farms creme fraiche, red bell pepper, smoked provola, cilantro flowers, shaved shallot, tomato pulp, pecorino romano, parmigiano reggiano, black pepper, extra virgin olive oil, lemon, XXHEAT mala spiced chili) was one of the absolute best pizzas I have ever had in Los Angeles.

I added a small cup of Calabrian chili, which made everything pop beautifully in my mouth.
It was the kind of perfection that makes you addicted. The umami of the lamb? The cilantro flowers? The fresh squeezed lemon?
Girl….
That pizza was better than a date in which you know you’re going to have sex after.
That pizza was better than the excitement of boarding a flight to San Francisco for a weekend.
That pizza was better than the post manicure glow of looking at your hands and saying to yourself, “Damn, I look fucking fire”.
That pizza was better than finding a new, better shade of red lipstick that you swear THIS is the one that you’re actually going to use.
The pizza and dinning experience at Pizzeria Sei is absolutely worth the hype and notoriety.
In fact, this pizza was so delicious, that I brought my leftover slices to my dad’s house to try. When an 85 year old man from Texas says “this is really good pizza” – it’s that damn good.

It’s not a matter of if I go back.
Only, when.
