Panaderia Rosetta

Panadería Rosetta is a charming Roma Norte bakery, famous for guava and cheese pastries that blend Mexican and European styles

Now, if I find out about a place from two different people raving about it during the same night, I usually take it as a sign to visit said place. So, when I got notice that our flight from Mexico City to Puerto Vallarta was delayed an hour and a half, I was excited to schedule in a trip to Panaderia Rosetta for breakfast.

Taking a Uber from Andaz Mexico City to Panaderia Rosetta was a breeze. Before long, we were in front and I had my name down for a table for two.

After a very short wait, we were seated outside. With menus in our hands, the excitement washed over me.

The GUAVA ROLL arrived at our table. Immediately, I could see why Panaderia Rosetta was so popular. It was distinct and delicious.

Now, previously, during the Evening Taco and Mezcal Walking Tour in Mexico City that I booked through Airbnb Experiences, I met Ogan. He raved about Panaderia Rosetta – and especially raved about the hazelnut pesto on the ciabatta. He said that it was more well rounded in flavor and nutty taste vs the bright bold intense flavors of a traditional pesto with pine nuts.

So, of course, I was eager to try it.

When the CIABATTA (turkey ham, goat cheese and hazelnut pesto) arrived, it was love at first bite. I immediately tasted what Ogan referenced. The flavor profile was absolutely brilliant.

The hazelnut pesto did give me a more well rounded, nuttier flavor base. Split between us – as we both were rather still full from the previous night’s tacos – it was delicious.

Our drinks, with my CAPPUCCINO, came out last. With this, I enjoyed sipping my cappuccino while savoring bites of the guava roll.

As the bill was settled, I relished the sights and lingering sounds of my last morning in Mexico City.
