Dinner at Padella in London was the perfect goodbye dinner to a city that I love.
On my last night in London, I wanted something simple and delicious. After a quick search of noted mentions in the London food scene, I settled on taking a gamble to get a table at Padella.
Even though a sign outside stated that the wait list was full, I went inside and asked if a table for one was available. I was delighted when I was immediately seated. I felt that I’d won the food lottery.
I started with the SOURDOUGH BREAD (with Fiorano olive oil). The bread was thick and delicious and the olive oil was rich, high quality and tasty. But, I barely had time to eat it before my main dish arrived.
The TAGLIARINI WITH CORNISH MUSSELS (chili, garlic & wild oregano) was one for the books. Before I actually knew it, the pasta disappeared in my stomach. I remember I looked down and was legitimately surprised. The chopped mussels were easy to eat and the whole dish was just – delicious.
As I looked outside at the bustling life on Southwark Street, I felt the sense of being cozy, snuggled in and simply happy. Dinner at Padella was the perfect goodbye dinner to a city that I love.
