I’d wanted to try Nativo for a while. So, when Adam said yes to meeting me for happy hour and dinner to commemorate his escrow closing and a professional achievement, I was happy that he agreed to meet me at the seemingly awesome restaurant in Highland Park.

As I sometimes have a problem with time management and Los Angeles traffic, I arrived a bit later than Adam. Luckily, he’d ordered the YUCA FRIES (hand cut fried yuca, chipotle aioli and cilantro) at the bar for us to share.
I immediately ordered the MARGARITA (mezcal, cointreau, lime, agave, kosher salt), and was pleasantly refreshed.
Hungry, I ordered the TACO TRIO (chicken tinga taco, mole verde and taco de barbacoa) and a side of the FISH TACO (breaded tilapia, cabbage, salsa, chipotle mayo served on corn tortillas).

The CHIPS & SALSA (golden crisp corn tortillas w/ delicious house made salsa) were also delicious.
The food was exactly how I imagined it would be – delicious – and a great place to spend an hour or two in Highland Park.
