Morimoto Napa serves some of the best sushi I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying in Napa, California.
After a quick stop at San Francisco airport to pick Sara up, we headed to Napa. Our rooms at Andaz Napa weren’t ready. So, what are two ladies to do? Have lunch at Morimoto Napa.
After years of expectation, Morimoto Napa was everything I imagined it would be.
I started with the PEARABOSU cocktail (pear-ginger belvedere, kabosu, chartreuse) to set the tone. Of course, it was delicious.
Next, we ordered the HAMACHI TACOS (avocado, yuzu kosho, red onion, tomato, cilantro, lime) to share. To match, out came the EDAMAME (Maldon sea salt). Both dishes were simply impeccable.
Our main selection of sushi; including HOTATE (scallop), NEGITORO MAKI (chopped toro with scallion) IKURA (salmon roe) and EEL AVOCADO ROLL (barbeque eel, avocado) were delivered on a delicious long plater of delight.
Literally, some of the best sushi I’d had outside of Japan. It was so easy to relax and connect in conversation over delicious food.
Truly, Morimoto Napa is the stand out star for sushi in downtown Napa proper.
