Maru Coffee – Los Feliz

Maru Coffee is known for its minimalist design, meticulously crafted beverages - and long lines - in Los Feliz, California

There are some things in Los Angeles that are like rights of passage. Such was the case with Maru Coffee. My fantastic facialist, Stepheny from flowrbombr skincare, had raved about Maru Coffee’s Los Feliz location during a few sessions. I was curious. The location looked great, parking looked like the best of all the locations and the vibe seemed on point.

So, when it was time for Sara and I to pick our first coffee friend date to celebrate the New Year, I easily picked Maru Coffee’s Los Feliz location.

Now, one thing to note about the Super Trendy Los Angeles Spots is you MUST arrive before the line starts. Yes, Maru Coffee is a coffee shop with a line.

When I arrived – a bit before 9am on a Sunday, there wasn’t a line. I easily found a spot indoors to wait for Sara’s arrival.

My advanced arrival was accidentally perfect – as about 10 minutes later, there was indeed a line out the door.

I relished everyone’s morning fashions – and watching a tarot card reading at the coffee bar.

Peak Los Feliz.

By the time Sara found parking and arrived, the line outside was well established. But, even better than that, I strategically got the tarot card friend’s two seat spot for us to enjoy our hour of coffee and conversation.

When it was handed to me, my BREVE WHITE (hot long black topped with Maru’s signature cream) was – I can’t lie, it was good. It was hot, creamy and perfect for the cool January morning.

Likewise, my SESAME PRETZEL CROISSANT was a savory, delicious treat. I loved ripping off portions and eating it, while sipping on my coffee.

Now, the main thing that makes this Maru Coffee extra special – beyond the fashions and people watching – were the dogs!

They were true Sunday morning cuties!

An hour was the perfect amount of time to spend at Maru Coffee.

When we left at 9:53am, there were indeed an even longer line outside.

Which made this Halloween costume even more humorous.

Sometimes, I truly love Los Angeles.
