After a wonderful weekend in Santa Barbara, a stay at Mar Monte Hotel – The Unbound Collection by Hyatt and attending a friend’s elopement, we found ourselves hungry for a Sunday morning style breakfast. For me, that’s the kind of breakfast that’s worth relaxing, reminiscing the weekend and conversing over. The previous day, a wonderful member of the front desk staff recommended Jeannine’s American Bakery & Restaurant’s Montecito location over the Santa Barbara location. Taking that directive, I ended up at The Shop for breakfast. However, on this morning – only Jeannine’s would satisfy my curiosity and hunger.
The line – while extending outside the doors of the restaurant – seemed long. However, it was relatively quick. Within 25 minutes, we were at the register, ordering breakfast.

I absolutely LOVED the decor of the space. It felt like a comfortable, casual – yet upscale – vibe. Sunday morning perfection.
I ordered an Iced Cold Brew (made with Monaco roast by La Colombe coffee).

As we split the Lemon Scone, I couldn’t help but remark about how delicious it was.

But when my Challah French Toast Breakfast (Thick cut challah French toast, two eggs, choice of bacon, ham, or sausage) arrived, I couldn’t help but do my happy food dance in my chair.
I switched out the eggs for hash browns – and it was exactly what I wanted on such a beautiful Sunday morning.

Truly, breakfast at Jeannine’s American Bakery & Restaurant was the perfect end to a beautiful staycation weekend in Santa Barbara.
