After a morning of group experiences – Into the Skoura Valley: The Gorges, Bara Essence Rose Water and Kasbah Amridil – it was time for lunch.
After finishing up at Kasbah Amridil, our tour guide led us the short walk to a rather unremarkable building that housed Heritage House Skoura.

But like at things in Morocco, you can never judge the external as what lays inside the walls.
As we entered the restaurant courtyard, I immediately felt like home. The group collectively sat on cushions around a low table. And I was ready for a remarkable experience of food and culture.

First before me was a starter of Collard Greens and Taktouka (Moroccan Salad).

Next up was a shared dish of fluffy rice.

Our shared main dish was of Couscous with chicken and vegetables was absolutely delicious.

For dessert, the group enjoyed fresh Pomegranates. It was brilliant, because I watched them being picked from the pomegranate grove, a few minutes prior.

When the meal was over and we walked the short distance in Skoura to return to our coach, I truly appreciated such a delicious meal in such a unique space in Morocco.
