Golden Road Brewing – Atwater Village

There are few things as annoying as a person standing you up for a hangout with a no call & no show. Even when I called, left a message and DM’d to confirmed – I received nothing back. Because of this, I had a feeling they were going to ghost me. However, I am a person that stands behind intention. Plus, I just wanted to get out of the house after a rather challenging day.

So, I arrived at Golden Road in Atwater Village with extremely low expectations. Therefore, when the individual didn’t show up at the appointed time, I simply took out my computer and got to work.

But, not to have the night be fully useless, I opted to sample the current flavors and vibe at Golden Road. So, I ordered a my flight:

• Batch 1000 (11% ABV – A milestone, a myth, a moment in the grand fermentation of existence)
• Cherry Berry Sour (6% ABV – Sour ale with cherry and boysenberry)
• Galway Red Ale (5.3% ABV – Irish Style Red Ale. Smooth and Toasty)
• Mango Cart Mas (8% ABV – Bursting with lots of fresh mango aroma & flavor, this high AB Wheat Ale is not to be missed)

The selection was easy drinking, with my favorites being the Cherry Berry Sour and the Batch 1000.

For dinner, I selected the POKE NACHOS (wonton chips, raw ahi tuna, avocado, edamame, cucumber, seaweed salad, pickled yuzu onions, wasabi crema, eel sauce, poke sauce, furikake, shishito pepper).

Overall, it was fine pub food and a decent experience.
