Flowers Saratoga

Flowers Saratoga in Saratoga, California is a beautiful restaurant with theatrical table side presentations and top quality food to match.

Flowers Saratoga was the perfect way to end a lovely day spent at San Francisco Botanical Gardens and Case for Making. Since it was within walking distance to The Inn at Saratoga, it was lovely to actually walk myself to dinner.

My dear friend Margaret drove from Oakland to meet me. She was the perfect dining partner for a truly a delicious dining experience.

The key to Flowers is the Instagram / Tik Tok worthy assortment of dishes. With pretty much all of them topped with – wait for it – flowers.

We started with the SHAVED BRUSSELS SALAD (meyer lemon vinaigrette, poached bosc pear, toasted pumpkin seeds, cranberry, parmigiano reggiano, garlic crostini)

I continued with the AHI TUNA CONES (line caught yellowfin tuna, yuzu kosho, hass avocado, white truffle ponzu, wonton cone), which were visually beautiful as well as delicious.

After this, Margaret and I shared the TRUFFLE PARMESAN FRIES – which were deliciously done.

As she’s vegan, Margaret ordered the PUMPKIN PUFF PUFFS (sugar pie pumpkin risotto, fall spices, panko fried, honeynut squash puree, brown butter snow, crispy sage)

Margaret ordered the KISS THE BUBBLE (Mandarin Infused Hangar One Vodka, Lillet Blanc, Cranberry Cordial, Bergamot Bubble) – complete with a decadent smoke filled bubble that you pop yourself before drinking.

I ordered the HUMMINGBIRD (Tito’ s vodka, italicus liqueur, citrus, basil and champagne cordial, soda) which was also a refreshing delight. More drinks were ordered over conversation.

For my main course, I ordered the SMOKEY WAGYU BAVETTE (parsnip puree, crispy shallots, sauce verte, garlic flowers, black garlic demi-glaze, bourbon soaked oak smoke finished). This was – indeed – served smoked.
