Eclectic Kim Review: Firefly

Firefly in Studio City offers a romantic, intimate setting with modern American cuisine and elegant indoor-outdoor spaces

Whenever Erik and I get together, it’s always a wonderful time filled with deep conversations about real estate and life. Honestly, there are only a handful of people in my life who truly understand the pain of losing a parent and the profound grief that follows. Erik – my escrow officer and dear friend – has been instrumental in shaping the person I am today. Our almost – monthly dinners are something I genuinely look forward to.

This time, it was his turn to choose – and he suggested Firefly in Studio City. I was more than happy to revisit one of my favorite hidden gems.

Now, parking in this part of Studio City is an absolute trash can. However, it’s not as bad as Koreatown. I managed to find a spot that gave me the chance to enjoy a refreshing walk to the restaurant.

After exchanging our usual warm greetings and hugs, Erik and I were escorted to a newly renovated section of the restaurant. The space was absolutely stunning, an elegant and intimate addition to an already charming spot.

Settling into our table, were greeted with an introductory glass of Brachetto Rosso Semi-Sweet by Luca Bosio from Piedmont, Italy.

For my first cocktail, I savored and sipped a glass of NOT ALL GINGERS HAVE FRECKLES (Illegal mezcal, lime juice, ginger syrup, agave, orange bitters).

This cocktail was smokey, citrusy, and kissed with spice. It felt like a refreshing version of a margarita. It was both refreshing and unique. All the things that I love.

As an appetizer, we shared the CRUDO (striped bass, agua cile, mango salsa, avocado mousse, red onion, cilantro, crunchy buckwheat).

For our main course, we split the 14 OZ GRILLED NEW YORK STEAK (chimcuri, butter sauce and aioli). We also chose the HAND CUT FRITES parsley, salt & garlic, ketchup, aioli and CAULIFLOWER (muhammara, curry golden raisin) for our sides.
